The Spoken Word
Why Am I Still Single . . .
Isaiah 40:28:31 - Jeremiah 29:11
Being single can sometimes be one of the greatest challenges life
could ever offer us. However, I have found that some of our greatest
challenges often become our greatest testimonies. Did you know that as
long as you have a relationship with God, you can be single and whole?
Those of you that desire companionship sometimes look at being single as a glass
half empty instead of half full. God is sending a word today to those that
are struggling with being single. I pray in these next few minutes you
will find a comforting word and most of all…...Hope.
The
scripture says in Isaiah 40:28-31 -
Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the
everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or
weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young
men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their
strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow
weary, they will walk and not be faint.
Here the key verse is : but those who hope in the LORD will
renew their strength. In the King James Version it states – those who
wait on the Lord…At times we all may get into a situation where it is just
hard to wait. But God is sending us hope by letting us know through HIS Word
that there is victory in our waiting. The word “wait” means “to remain” or “to
be ready”. Here in this text we read where even the strongest people struggle
with waiting. I submit to you this day, that once we began to realize that God
is the source of our strength, then we will know that He and He alone is the
strength of our life. That strength is what holds us. In the 29th
verse it says he gives strength to the weary and increases power of the weak.
Praise God – that is a promise!!
I speak from experience – I use to get weary from the fact that
I’m still single. Yes I would sometimes question God as to why haven’t I
married yet. Why aren’t I experiencing the joy of marriage? Have you ever had
questions like that? As I began to grow in God and strengthen my
relationship in Him I began to realize that – I’ve got to learn to be content
right where I am. I didn’t settle on the fact that I might not marry – but the
fact that I am trusting God with my life. The scripture says in Philippians
4:11 – whatsoever state I find myself in – there I will be content. Dear
Friend, we have got to learn to rest in Him….Trust Him………….let’s not get
impatient. There are people today who couldn’t bear the thought of waiting –
and married the wrong person. Let’s not do that. Let’s wait on God for who He
has for us. Some may think well, I’m 30 years old now, I’m 45 years old.
Soon I won’t be able to bear children. I want to enjoy my mate while I can.
Wait!! Stop! What’s wrong with those statements?!!
Do you realize that no matter what questions you ask – you still
have to “wait” on God’s timing?
My Sister, My Brother – God has the ability to stop time. God is
outside of time. Therefore if He chooses to allow someone to come in to your
life at the age of 45 – He has the power to allow you to enjoy the best days of
your life. However, you must wait on Him.
Singles, while you are waiting…..why not let God satisfy you?
The only way this can happen is that you totally surrender your thoughts and
will to him. Yes, we may desire the “physical”, but God is saying, let ME
satisfy you. We desire to be intimate with someone, but God is saying not until
you’ve been intimate with me. Many of you are looking around for the “right
one”, but let me encourage you today – look to Jesus. Amen!!
There is a scripture that I want to leave with you – and every
time you feel that “loneliness” or feel like you need to question God about your
singleness. The scripture says: For I know the plans I have for you, declares
the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a
future. My friend, this is God’s word to you. He already has the blueprint of
your life. He already has the plan for your life. Don’t move ahead of the
plan……….rest right where you are. I promise you that God is perfect, His way is
perfect, and he knows exactly what he is doing. Trust Him. Wait on Him.
Perhaps you have
real concerns about this and want me to agree with you in Prayer --
The Bible says in Matthew 18:19
"That if
two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it
shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven."
Your heart
issues are important to God. Let me agree with you according to God's word for
strength and victory. As long as we pray according to God’s Will – He said he
will hear us. Remember, God can feel your concern and hurts.
He just
wants them brought to Him…..through Prayer. Please click below and submit
your information and let us begin to Pray and Wait.
